Emanuele Giarlini

Emanuele is a senior engineering leader and technical advisor based in Berlin, with over a decade of experience building and scaling software teams, most recently through the shift toward AI-assisted engineering.

He started out as an individual contributor before moving into leadership, and that grounding still shapes how he works today: hands-on, close to the code, and invested in teams as much as delivery. Over his career he has led organizations ranging from 5 to 60 people, including as the first Engineering Manager at Schüttflix, growing the tech org from around ten people to seventy, and later as Director of Engineering at MOIA.

He currently leads Data Engineering at Statista, where his teams own the data ingestion, harmonization, and transformation flow. Alongside this, he serves as Technical Advisor for AI & Engineering at Ludu, shaping AI strategy and engineering culture while staying hands-on: driving adoption of tools like Claude Code, embedding LLM-powered tooling into CI/CD, and coaching founders and engineers on responsible AI use.

Throughout, he has invested in the structures that make growing teams work: founding working groups, building technical career ladders, and coaching engineers at every level.

He likes software, people, and the intersection between these worlds.
